Journal Entry #260: Land Before Time

I woke up and watched some college basketball. None of them were too exciting. So I went to Harry’s Seafood for lunch. I had some tilapia and some french fries. I did not even have an alcohol drink. I just had some good pink lemonade. My waitress was a little slow with the refills. It seem like she was doing everything except worrying about my table. I did not fault her for it in her tip. The food was only alright in the end. The fish did taste fresh though. I seen two of my friends up there too. It was quite random because it was 3 o clock in the afternoon on a Saturday. I did not know Harry’s was the hot spot to be during this time.

I came home after that and took a good old itis nap. It was a good hour or so as usual. I woke up and started watching another movie called “In the Land of the Women” with Adam Brody and Kristen Stewart. It was not that good. I still do not know why it was called “In the Land of the Women.” Adam Brody was not a big player in this movie. It was your general romantic comedy with a twist of the movie “50/50.” It lacked a strong performance though. Meg Ryan was in it too. There is a good reason that she is not getting much acting work anymore.

I showcase my good work to friend. She tried my first attempt to making macaroni cheese. It was leftovers so this is when the truth comes out. She had to put sugar in it but she ate all of it. Yeah, she is a child for putting the sugar in it but whatever. I had some of it too and it was still good. I congratulated myself with a glass of VSOP…or two.

I watched two movies today too. I just finished watching Biutiful. If you do not like reading, do not watch this movie. It is all subtitles. If you are fluent in Spanish, this  film is perfect for you. It was deep and touch on many ethical and racial issues. This was the best movie I watched all week.  This is another movie that ended great like “Get Low.” It was like the circle of life of movies. It was good way to end my Saturday.

P.S. Some good ol Apple Cider vinegar water to end my day.

Journal Entry #259: Home Grown

I started out my day with a little homework. I hope I did it correctly this time. I do not want to get in front of the class again. He chewed out everyone yesterday though. My chew out was not needed. I was commenting on a fellow student great writing but he thought I was chatting. I do not have to explain myself. I feel like I am in high school again. The homework took me a short time today. There was more good information for this one.

I went to Cracker Barrel for a late breakfast. I was greeted by a gold tooth hostess who sat me. She was nice and not too hood. But it is not the first I would want for a restaurant. Dishwashers seem like the more typical job for gold teeth people or actors in Cash for Gold commercials.

I did not need a menu today because I already knew what I want. I know the menu somewhat by heart. She did not give my Apple Cider in the chilled glass. I should have deducted that from her tip. When I get the chilled glass, I feel like a bawse.

I went to the store after that to get the ingredients for dinner. I was determined to make homemade mash potatoes and macaroni and cheese. I definitely forgot some key items when I was at the store. That happens to everyone though. I definitely was not about to go back. I just improvised with what we had. I think both of the experiments turned out well. I never made homemade macaroni and cheese or mash potatoes. I wish I bought a masher. But I deserved a pat on the back for the meal. It was a sleeper.

I ended my day with some good movie watching. I watched “Get Low” with Robert Duvall and Bill Murray. I thought it was going to be a comedy with the DVD cover. I was clearly wrong. I had to hold back the tears at the end. I was strong though. It was based on a true story too. I suggest this movie. It is not as old as Chocolate Wars. This movie is from 2010. Go ahead and pick that up.

P.S. Silly Bandz are still cool.
